Wat is een maximumkaart?

Een maximumkaart is een type kaart, zoals een ansichtkaart, waarop een afbeelding staat die sterk overeenkomt met de afbeelding van de postzegel die erop is bevestigd. Deze postzegel kan zowel een reguliere frankeerzegel als een speciale gelegenheidszegel zijn. De zegel wordt op de zijde met de illustratie van de kaart geplakt en ontvangt een specifiek stempel dat idealiter aansluit bij de afbeelding of het doel waarvoor de postzegel is uitgegeven. Indien er geen speciaal stempel beschikbaar is, kan een standaard datumstempel worden gebruikt.

Aangezien de postzegel op de beeldzijde en niet op de adreszijde wordt geplaatst, spreken we van een welwillendheidsafstempeling. Maximumkaarten zijn een voorbeeld van creatief werk binnen de filatelie, omdat ze niet bedoeld zijn voor regulier postverkeer. De kaarten worden vaak speciaal gemaakt voor verzamelaars.

Dit betekent echter niet dat het verzamelen van maximumkaarten niet toegestaan is: het verzamelen ervan staat bekend als maximafilie.

Enkele begrippen voor deze catalogus:

 -  Er kunnen verschillende MK's zijn met de zelfde afbeeding maar met verschillende afstempeling of afbeelding (op voorwaarde dat de afbeelding van de zegel overeenstemd) 

- Vanaf J1955 zijn er folders. Als er voorverkopen zijn opgesomd, worden de Mk's dan ook getoond volgens deze verschillende voorverkopenstempels -

Er zijn zogezegde maximumkaarten in omloop met dezelfde nummer echter ZONDER een overeenstemming met de zegel: die zijn  hier niet getoond. 

- Hier wordt de opsomming in OBP zo veel mogelijk gevolgd met als hoofdoel enkel de MK met de 1ste afstempelingdatum (sommige - Niet in OBP - echter met andere datums o.a.418A/426) 

- De datums rechts van de reeksbeschrijving is de 1st afstempel-uitgavedatum, zo niet zijn er naast de nummer de werkelijke afstempeldatum getoond als er geen MK met 1st afstempeldatum voorhandig is. 

- Deze catalogus geeft enig idee wat er allemaal uitgekomen is als Maximumkaart. - Kaarten beschikbaar vanaf postzegelreeksen 74/80 : «Grove baard» Leopold II» t.e.m. 4647/4651: «Astronomie in de kijker» (einde uitgiften maximumkaarten)

Qu'est-ce qu'une carte maximum ?

Une carte maximum est un type de carte, comme une carte postale, sur laquelle figure une image qui correspond étroitement à celle du timbre qui y est apposé. Ce timbre peut être un timbre postal ordinaire ou un timbre spécial. Le timbre est collé sur le côté illustré de la carte et reçoit un cachet spécifique qui correspond idéalement à l'image ou à l'objectif pour lequel le timbre a été émis. Si aucun cachet spécial n'est disponible, un cachet dateur standard peut être utilisé.

Comme le timbre est apposé sur le côté illustré et non sur le côté adresse, on parle d'un cachet de bienveillance. Les cartes maximum sont un exemple de travail créatif dans le domaine de la philatélie, car elles ne sont pas destinées au trafic postal régulier. Les cartes sont souvent spécialement conçues pour les collectionneurs.

Cela ne signifie toutefois pas que la collection de cartes maximales est interdite : cette pratique est connue sous le nom de maximaphilie

Quelques notions pour ce catalogue :

 - Il peut y avoir plusieurs cartes maximales avec la même image, mais avec des cachets ou des illustrations différents (à condition que l'image du timbre corresponde). 

- À partir de J1955, il existe des dépliants. Si des préventes sont répertoriées, les MK sont alors également présentés selon ces différents cachets de prévente. 

- Il existe des cartes dites « maximales » en circulation qui portent le même numéro mais qui ne correspondent PAS au cachet : elles ne sont pas présentées ici. 

- Dans la mesure du possible, la liste dans le COB est suivie, l'objectif principal étant de ne retenir que les MK avec la 1e date d'oblitération (certains - non repris dans le COB - avec toutefois d'autres dates 418A/426). 

- Les dates à droite de la description de la série = la date de 1e émission du cachet postal. Si aucun cachet postal avec la date de 1e émission n'est disponible, la date réelle du cachet postal est indiquée à côté du numéro. 

- Ce catalogue donne une idée de tout ce qui a été publié sous forme de carte Maximum. 

- Cartes disponibles à partir des séries de timbres 74/80 : « Barbe épaisse » Léopold II » jusqu'à 4647/4651 : « L'astronomie à l'honneur » (fin des émissions de cartes maximum)

What is a maximum card?

A maximum card is a type of card, such as a postcard, featuring an image that closely matches the image on the stamp affixed to it. This stamp can be either a regular postage stamp or a special occasion stamp. The stamp is affixed to the side of the card with the illustration and receives a specific postmark that ideally matches the image or the purpose for which the stamp was issued. If no special postmark is available, a standard date stamp may be used.

Since the stamp is placed on the picture side and not on the address side, we refer to this as a goodwill cancellation. Maximum cards are an example of creative work within philately, as they are not intended for regular postal traffic. The cards are often made especially for collectors.

However, this does not mean that collecting maximum cards is not allowed: collecting them is known  as maximaphily.  

Some terms for this catalogue:

 - There may be different MKs with the same image but with different postmarks or images (provided that the image on the stamp is the same). 

- Flyers have been available since Y1955. If advance sales are listed, the MKs are also shown according to these different advance sale stamps. 

- There are so-called maximum cards in circulation with the same number but WITHOUT a match with the stamp: these are not shown here. 

- As far as possible, the list in OSC is followed, with the main objective being only the MK with the first stamp date (some - not in OSC - however, with other dates such as 418A/426).

- The dates to the right of the series description are the first postmark issue dates. If no MK with a first postmark date is available, the actual postmark date is shown next to the number 

- This catalogue gives some idea of what has been released as Maximum Cards.
